Our Beautiful Riverside Bed and Breakfast. Looking for tranquillity but near to all amenities - this has the best of both worlds - overlooking garden, river and forest to the rear and walking distance to the village from the front. Situated in a pretty, historical village which offers everything but a butchers - plus a water sports lake with family friendly swimming beach and an XIth century donjon. The area is surrounded by forest and riverside walks, is great for fishing, nature, visits to vineyards and chateaux. Accommodation is elegant and spacious with a family room which caters for a family of five with its own sitting area and its own large fireplace. There is also a romantic and tranquil double room. Both rooms are ensuite - one with both a separate shower and an antique roll top bath. The house has substantial character with beamed ceilings and tall shuttered windows, as well as its own 11th century doorway.

Le Grand Saule Chambre d'Hote can be found in the pretty, historical village of Moncontour, on the border of Vienne and Deux Sevres, in the sunny Poitou Charentes region of France. It is just 45 minutes drive south to Poitiers, the airport, train station and to the famous themepark Futuroscope. Juat 40 minutes to the north can be found the Loire Valley and its famous chateaux.
